Chevrolet Cruze Repair Manual: Installation Procedure

Chevrolet Cruze Repair Manual / Body repair / Collision Repair / Body Lock Pillar Outer Panel Reinforcement Replacement (MIG-Brazing) / Installation Procedure

  1. Prepare all mating surfaces as necessary.
  2. Align the body lock pillar outer panel reinforcement.

  1. Create 8 x 24 mm (5/16 x 15/16 in) slots for MIG-brazing upper (1) and lower (2).
  2. Clean and prepare the attaching surfaces for spot welding and brazing.

  1. Position the body lock pillar outer panel reinforcement on the vehicle.
  2. Verify the fit of the body lock pillar outer panel reinforcement
  3. Clamp the body lock pillar outer panel reinforcement into position.

  1. Braze accordingly.

  1. Spot weld accordingly
  2. Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area, as necessary. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair.
  3. Paint the repaired area. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems.
  4. Install all related panels and components.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
